British Parliamentary
Term Three
Our British Parliament style debates consist of
4 teams of two who act as the Government
and Opposition (leaders & backbenchers).
This tournament is lots of fun for
debaters, adjudicators, & spectators alike.

Term One
We begin our year with a coveted 3v3 style debating
tournament which is perfect for all abilities to get
settled into debating with the AUDS, and meeting
likeminded individuals.

Intervarsities
EASTERS
Melbourne, April 21st to 25th
EASTERS is a well-loved Australian 3v3 style debating tournament, aimed at developing debaters’ skills. Two team members must be novice debaters.
Teams consist of 3 debaters who speak for 8 minutes with no POIs or replies.
Easters 2025 will be hosted by Melbourne University Debating Society (MUDS), from 21st to 25th of April. Please contact a committee member if you are keen to know more!
AUSTRALS
Guangzhou, July 6th to 13th
The Australasian Intervarsity Debating Championships (AUSTRALS) is an annual 3v3 format debating tournament aimed at intermediate and experienced debaters across the Asia-Pacific area.
Teams consist of 3 debaters who speak for 8 minutes with POIs and replies.

WUDC
Sofia, December 28th 2025 to January 4th 2026
The World Universities Debating Championships (WUDC) is the world’s biggest debating tournament, featuring a British Parliamentary debating format.
Teams consist of 2 debaters who speak for 7 minutes with POIs and no replies.
